In Salt Lake City I only spent 17 hours. The owners of the Saltair B & B knew that I
would arrive in Salt Lake City late at night and I had asked them if they would help me
plan my time there to see as much as possible. During breakfast of pancakes and maple
syrup (a new taste for me) they told me of the plans they had made for my day. The rooms
at Saltair were beautifully decorated with many antique lamps and accessories.
There was time to see the Morman Center with the Temple Square, the library with the
geneology archives. the rotunda with the well known sculpture of Christ by Bertel
Thorvaldsen. In the Tabernacle I attended a concert by an organist on one of the largest
organs in the world. On the ride to the airport I saw the high snow covered
mountains in the background and got an impression of the scenery that the visitors will
see when attending the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002.
